Order Only: What Davidson's people can tell us

is not very much so far. Although fingers are very itchy on the (few) wands they have in the free enclaves, there hasn't been a hint of auror or enforcer activity zeroing in on their people, much to everyone's relief. They have exerted themselves to the utmost to check in with all of the camps where the Sherwood Band has links or ties. Most of them are in the Midlands, especially Lincolnshire and Derbyshire, but they have friends of friends and attenuated contacts sending word back from throughout the Protectorate.

Security is very tight in the camps, everywhere, with all personnel on call for backup and doubled shifts scheduled for the next forty-eight hours, probably to keep a lid on things. Arthur, I'm sure you heard this today, too. And there are scattered reports of people being hauled in, many in the middle of the night. Davidson's compiled a list of about ten people so far, holding a wide variety of jobs. Wizard, muggleborn and muggle. A warehouse inventory manager in a camp in East Anglia. A farm overseer in West Lindsey. A supervisor of a dairy in Crudgington, in Shropshire. We can check it against the list the Prophet half-promised to publish tomorrow.

I spent some time with Arthur and Bill tonight, and while I was here, Bill received a few patronuses from several in his analyst network, informing him of several people who mysteriously skyved off from their desks at the Ministry today. Aside from Norma Brownmiller, there was a woman who worked with the Floo network, and another in Squib Affairs. Bill's going in tomorrow, he says, ostensibly to catch up on reports for Rosier, but really to see what he can glean about other Ministry arrests. Cautiously. Bill says he thinks that very little will be said in the Prophet about anyone with Dogstar who actually worked at the Ministry. It doesn't at all fit the preferred narrative about the loyalties of true citizen of the Protectorate.

We're all going to have to keep our heads down for awhile.
